The rural health care in India is overwhelmed with poor infrastructure, long wait times, high diagnostic costs and extensive travel for treatment. It is this gap in the availability of low cost primary health care that this innovation is striving to address.

ORMET’s main aim is to provide and upgrade health education to the unemployed youth in rural areas& thus make the rural healthcare delivery sophisticated, yet cost effective.

ORMET was founded in order to achieve the following aims and objectives:

• To design & organize the specialized training courses to provide continuous health education to existing technical / paramedical / medical personnel under the guidance of well qualified and experienced doctors & thus strengthen the healthcare delivery system in rural India.
• To facilitate qualified doctors to reach rural area by means of health camps/Telemedicine/Workshops & thus make the specialty health care to the rural community available and affordable.
• To offer Telemedicine services of international standards to the rural community using the most advanced technologies in this field and to offer these services by Tele consultations to Out patients, Inpatients and to the patients in emergency until transfer to ICU.
• To provide cutting edge knowledge of medicine and to update Physicians, Clinicians, Nurses, Para medical staff, medical and Para medical students and other healthcare providers in the distant locations with the recent advances in medicine by continuous medical education provided through Teleconferences.
• To promote services in Alternative medical specialties like Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Naturopathy etc and provide training in the same to the interested people in rural areas.
• To achieve international standards in health services by collaborating with Physicians, Physician groups, Para medical groups, Hospital networks and health organizations locally as well as globally.
• To develop and maintain the software, hardware, communication equipments and the related technology for the use of rural medicine and to conduct, support and facilitate research in this field.
